IN FRUIT
Very little change in our fruit situation except that we are starting to see good quantities of early nectarines in the markets. My pick this week of this early fruit would be the white peaches. November always brings a flush of lady finger bananas and this year is no exception with good quantities in store. I think they are the best eating of all bananas but they must be really ripe to get the unique flavour and sweetness to be found in this product. Also, better eating strawberries are ramping up in supply and by weeks end prices could ease. However, a hailstorm through the Victorian growing areas might spoil this.
IN VEGETABLE
Still lots of options in the vegetable selection. Kale, Dutch carrots and cabbage are all very good value. As well there is good supplies of mushrooms, snow peas and celery. With potatoes this week, the quality of the washed varieties is overall fairly poor but the new season Kestrels are very good and I would recommend you purchase the latter not the former.
