IN FRUIT
There are a couple of not major lines that are so good at the moment that I think they are well worth mentioning. First is our Ruby grapefruit from the WA desert. This fruit does not look particularly good in fact many shops and the major supermarkets choose not to stock it the appearance is so poor. I think it is the best eating grapefruit of the year! The other not so well known line is our Fuji apples. They are so good! Fujis are a newer variety of apple originally from Japan very very sweet they are highly regarded all over Asia as the premium Apple. In the last few years they have been in short supply but this year there is plenty and the price is very competitive. Paw paw and papaya are still good and cheap and citrus is still a bargain. It's still cold in Queensland so we are still waiting for the strawberry price to fall.
IN VEGETABLE
We have those fabulous Tassie Nicola potatoes on special in all our stores again this week. Low GI great for any cooking and at a fabulous price. I recommend storing a few extra of these you really can't go wrong. Again this week Brussels sprouts are really good value, they are just such good quality at the moment all the pumpkin, potatoes and onions continue to delight in hearty winter meals, and not much else has changed.
